The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Fountain University Osogbo, Professor Amidu Sanni has appealed to stakeholders in Osun State to provide more infrastructure to aid the growth and development of the institution, reaffirming the need to work with both private and public stakeholders in order to make the university a preferred institution of choice. He made the call when executives of NASFAT, Osun Zone paid a courtesy visit to the institution in Osogbo, recently.
The Vice Chancellor also reiterated the need to combine both academic and religious studies together in order to make the products of the university educationally, morally and spiritually sound. While highlighting the challenges hindering the development of the institution, Professor Sanni made an appeal to all stakeholders in the state especially members of NASFAT to contribute in any quota to the development of the university.
“Our great citadel of learning, Fountain University has a great future. Different programmes will soon be commenced and we are working with various stakeholders within and outside the country. Soon, the great vision of the institution will be realized. Since the importance cannot be undermined, we need aid from various organizations. We can’t work alone without support, therefore, we are appealing to you NASFAT and everyone else to support us to achieve our grandiose dream,” Professor Sanni said.
In his own remarks, the NASFAT Chairman, Osun branch Mushefiu Adewumi promised to help fulfil the mission and vision of the institution. While lamenting the fact that paucity of funds is hindering the fulfilment of their promises to the university, he assured the management that the Osun branch will do everything humanly possible to fulfil the promises made.
The courtesy visit also included a prayer session led by the Chairman, Fountain University Parents’ Forum, Professor Y.K. Yusuf who prayed for the institution as well as NASFAT.
Among the management team in attendance include the Registrar, Mrs W.K. Sallee, , Acting Librarian, Dr. Salman AbdSalam the Bursar, Mrs Silifat Alli-Balogun and the Director of Works, Engineer AbdSemiu Odenike.
