FUO GREENING AND BEAUTIFICATION CLUB: CALL FOR MEMBERS

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim has established a Greening and Beautification club with the primary aim of engaging our community in the physical aesthetic development of our beloved institution.

The other objectives of the club are as follows:

1. Promote environmental awareness and sustainability: The club seeks to educate staff and students on the importance of maintaining a green and aesthetically pleasing environment by organizing workshops, seminars, and other related activities.

2. Design and implement landscaping and beautification projects: The club will develop and execute plans to improve the university’s overall physical appearance through the planting of trees, flowers, and other greenery, as well as beautification initiatives such as installing benches, artwork, and well-maintained pathways.

3. Encourage and coordinate community involvement: The club will actively involve staff, students, and other local stakeholders in the planning and implementation of greening and beautification projects, fostering a sense of ownership and personal investment in the university’s appearance.

4. Support and advocate for environmentally-friendly campus policies: The club will work closely with university administration to develop and promote policies that facilitate a greener and more attractive campus, such as recycling programs, energy conservation measures, and sustainable procurement practices.

5. Continually assess and monitor the effectiveness of greening and beautification initiatives: The club will regularly evaluate its projects and activities, identify areas of success and potential improvements, and establish a system for monitoring and reporting on the environmental and aesthetic state of the campus.
