CBN to partner with Fountain varsity on entrepreneurship skills

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Osun branch has expressed readiness to partner with Fountain University on loan assessment for the development of entrepreneurship training in the University.

Mrs Adebayo Oluyemisi, who led the CBN team during a visit to the University Management recently, said staff and students of the university can take advantage of the windows of opportunity provided by the CBN to assess loan for businesses and entrepreneurship growth.

Adebayo explained that the CBN has various loan schemes for all kinds of businesses, especially for agricultural products in line with the economic diversification initiatives of the Federal Government.

She highlighted some of the loans accessible as Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme (CACS) National Collateral Registry (NCR) Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) development fund, Agribusiness /Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme (AGSMEIS) Anchor Borrower’s Programme (ABP) among others.

The CBN Director stressed that all the loans are accessible through commercial banks, microfinance banks, Islamic Development Banks and Agricultural Development banks, depending on the nature of business.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Amidu Sanni, who spoke on behalf of the management appreciated the CBN team and requested for a return visit, so that students and staff members of the university can benefit from the scheme in their large numbers.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of the University souvenir by the Registrar, Dr. K. W Sallee on behalf of the Management as a token of appreciation to the CBN team.
