The two-member team, led by Prof. Adesola Odole of the University of Ibadan, concluded the visit with an exit report session held at the office of the Vice-Chancellor, Olayinka Ramota Karim today.
Speaking during the session, Prof. Odole expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness of the Department of Physiotherapy and commended the University for the quality of its human, material, and infrastructural resources dedicated to the programme.
She noted that the team was particularly impressed by the facilities available for training, the calibre of academic personnel, the enthusiasm of the clinical technician at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital which serves as the professional attachment point for the students on training and the University’s commitment to maintaining professional standards required for the Doctor of Physiotherapy programme.
Prof. Odole further expressed optimism that the outcome of the accreditation exercise would be positive following the submission and review of the team’s report by the professional body.
“We are impressed with what we have seen,” she stated, adding that the University has demonstrated commendable commitment toward building a strong and sustainable Physiotherapy programme capable of producing competent healthcare professionals.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim, appreciated the accreditation team for what she described as a thorough and professional exercise. She reaffirmed the University’s commitment to sustaining excellence in academic delivery, professional training, and infrastructural development.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that Fountain University remains focused on creating a conducive learning environment that supports innovation, quality healthcare education, and professional competence.
She also reiterated the institution’s readiness to continue investing in programmes that contribute meaningfully to national development and the advancement of healthcare services.
The accreditation visit marks another significant step in Fountain University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its health sciences programmes and maintain high professional and academic standards.
