<p>The College of Basic Medical and Health Sciences of Fountain University, Osogbo, has successfully hosted the maiden edition of its International Conference themed &ldquo;Technology, Transformation, and Health in a Rapidly Evolving World: Balancing Innovation with Human Well-Being.&rdquo; The conference, which attracted academics, health professionals, researchers, staff, and students, commenced with a pre-conference workshop featuring insightful presentations on contemporary healthcare challenges and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. At the workshop, Dr. Taoheed Alabi, the resident Medical Doctor at the University Clinic, alongside Dr. M O Akinbade, delivered presentations on the topic &ldquo;Integrated Care for Chronic Disease: A Multidisciplinary Approach.&rdquo; The session explored collaborative healthcare models and emphasized the importance of coordinated medical interventions in managing chronic illnesses within modern healthcare systems. The formal opening ceremony of the conference held today featured distinguished scholars and experts from various institutions across the country. Delivering the keynote address was Prof. Wasiu Olalekan Adebimpe of the University of Medical Sciences, who spoke extensively on the evolving relationship between technology, healthcare delivery, and human well-being in a rapidly changing global environment. The conference also featured lead paper presentations from Prof. Olusegun Oguntoke of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta and Dr. Toluwase Solomon Olawuyi of the Federal University of Technology Akure. Their presentations examined emerging trends in healthcare innovation, technological transformation, environmental health, and the need to maintain a balance between scientific advancement and human-centered care. In his remarks at both the pre-conference workshop and the formal opening ceremony, the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Dr. Taofik Towolawi, described the conference as a strategic platform for intellectual engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the exchange of innovative ideas capable of addressing contemporary healthcare challenges. The Dean of the College of Basic Medical and Health Sciences, Prof. Moriam Dasola Adeoye, was also present at the event, where she represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim. She commended the organizers for successfully hosting the maiden conference and reaffirmed the University&rsquo;s commitment to promoting impactful research, innovation, and quality healthcare education. A major highlight of the formal opening ceremony was the official launch of the College&rsquo;s academic publication, the Journal of Basic Medical and Health Sciences. The journal is expected to serve as a platform for scholarly discourse, research dissemination, and academic collaboration within the medical and health sciences community. The conference was well attended by staff and students of the College, alongside invited guests and researchers from other institutions, further reinforcing Fountain University&rsquo;s growing reputation as a centre for academic excellence, innovation, and impactful research. The successful hosting of the maiden international conference marks another significant milestone in the University&rsquo;s continued efforts to contribute meaningfully to global conversations on health, technology, and sustainable human development.</p>
