Fountain University has been ranked the 18th best university in Nigeria by ScholarGPS, a California-based company renowned for its cutting-edge data science techniques. This latest recognition further cements the university’s position as a premier institution in the country, following its recent designation as the 1st Islamic Faith-based University in Nigeria for 2024 by Times Higher Education (THE).
In addition, Professor AbdulAzeez Tunbosun Lawal, a distinguished researcher at Fountain University, has been recognized as one of the top 0.5% scholars globally by ScholarGPS. This achievement complements his previous ranking as one of the top 5% scientists in the world by Elsevier, solidifying his status as a leading expert in his field.
ScholarGPS’s ranking is based on an extensive analysis of over 200 million publications and 3 billion citations, underscoring the university’s commitment to academic excellence and research innovation.
Reacting to this new development, the Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim expressed her excitement while alluding the ranking result to the commitment of the University to Academic and Moral Excellence.
