Welcome to the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies

It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all our new and returning students. Our department is dedicated to the study and understanding of the Arabic language, Islamic civilization, and the rich cultural heritage of the Islamic world.

About the Department

Our History

The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Fountain University was established to promote the study and understanding of the Arabic language, Islamic civilization, and the rich cultural heritage of the Islamic world. It has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence and is committed to producing graduates who are well-versed in Arabic language and Islamic studies.

 

Philosophy

The department is guided by the belief that the study of Arabic and Islamic studies is essential for fostering cross-cultural understanding, promoting peace, and contributing to the development of a more inclusive and harmonious society. It aims to provide students with a comprehensive education that combines academic rigor with practical relevance.

The mission of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies is to provide students with a deep understanding of the Arabic language, Islamic theology, law, history, and culture. Requirements

  1. B.A. Arabic Studies
  2. B. A. Islamic Studies
 
 
 
 
 

In addition to UTME requirement, five Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) (or its equivalent) credit passes including Islamic Studies and English Language, at not more than two sittings.

 

Five SSC-credit passes including English language, two of which must be at the advanced level and should include Islamic Studies; 

FUO Diploma, JUPEB, IJMB and any other relevant certificate not less than University Diploma in relevant subjects are also accepted for the Direct Entry
