The Department has been a cutting edge in combining B.Sc. degree in Political Science and Public Administration in Nigeria. The Department has trained several individuals and groups in line with the mission of the University which is,” to provide competition and resourceful graduates with high moral standard irrespective of race, tribe, religion or political inclinations”. The Department prides itself in impacting sound character along with quality academic discipline on students. The Department is also set to commence M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes in Political Science with specialization in Political Theory, Public Administration, and International Relations. The same is for M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Public Administration with specialization in Policy Development and Analysis, Human Resources Management, Local Government Administration and Legislative Studies

College of Management and Social Science
Candidates for admission into the four-year degree programme must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or General Certificate of Education, NECO or their equivalents with at least five Credit passes, obtained in not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Government and at least two other social science subjects. An acceptable UTME score is also required.
UTME Subjects: English Language, Government and two other subjects chosen from Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, Geography and Literature in English
Candidates for direct entry into the degree programme should possess five credit passes in the General Certificate of Education, NECO, Senior Secondary School Certificate or their equivalents, with at least five Credit passes, obtained in not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Government and at least two other arts or social science subjects. In addition, candidates must possess credit passes in Government and one or two other social science subjects at advanced level in the General Certificate of Education, or an acceptable grade at the Fountain University Degree Foundation Programme, or its equivalent.
