Biography

Moridiyat was born more than 60 years ago in Osogbo, Osun state. Following her secondary education at Osogbo Grammar School Osun State, she proceeded to the School of Nursing Eleyele Ibadan for her professional general Nursing training between 1978 and 1980. She was trained as a Midwife at the School of Midwifery Ade-Oyo State Hospital Ibadan and obtained her first degree in Nursing at the premier university (University of Ibadan) in July 1985. In 1991, she returned to the university for her master’s degree programme in public health (Master of public health) to become a Health Education Specialist. Her interest in education pushed her forward to her alma mater for her PhD programme in community health nursing which she completed in 2015.

O. A. Adeyemo served as a clinical nurse in many hospitals in old Oyo State and present Osun State. She also worked as a nurse administrator in the Osun State Ministry of Health from 1992 to 2006, and during this time (1995 – 1997), she was a Hospital Manager at Anisok Polyclinic, Anisok in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, as a Member of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps of the Federal Ministry of External Affair.

She was once a part-time lecturer at the State School of Nursing and LASU sandwich programme at the College of Education in Ilesha. She rose to the post of deputy director before transferring her service to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso as a lecturer in February 2007, she was there till 2017 when she joined Osun State University Osogbo. She acted as Head of the Department of Nursing Science

Osun State University Osogbo between August 2018 and December 2021.  She voluntarily retired from Osun State University Osogbo in December 2023 and currently working as a contract Associate Professor at Fountain University Osogbo. She is the current head of the department of nursing science.

She has published 26 academic articles in local and international journals, co-authored two chapters in a book, presented academic papers, and served as a resource person in more than 20 conferences, workshops, and seminars. She has also participated in more than 55 Conferences, seminars, and workshops.
