Basic Requirements for Academic Positions

i. Qualifications for the position of Professor                                                                   FUASS 7
Applicants for the position of Professor must possess a Ph.D degree in a relevant discipline with at least seven (7) years of post-qualification experience in teaching and research in a University system. He/she must show evidence of scholarships and a track record of outstanding research with at least twenty-four (24) publications both in local and international peer-reviewed publications. Predatory and doubtful outlets, journals, and publishers are not allowed.
Applicants must have been a Reader for a minimum of two (2) years before 30th September 2024. He/she must be a member of the regulating professional bodies. In addition, applicants must be Computer literate and have a good understanding of Information and Communication Technology.

ii. Qualifications for the position of Reader                                                                     FUASS 6
Applicants for the position of Reader must possess a Ph.D degree in a relevant discipline with at least five (5) years post post-qualification experience in teaching and research in a University
system. He/she must show evidence of scholarships and a track record of outstanding research with at least twenty (20) publications both in local and international peer-reviewed
publications. Predatory and doubtful outlets, journals, and publishers are not allowed.
Applicants must have been Senior Lecturer for a minimum of two (2) years before 30th September 2024. He/she must be a member of the regulating professional bodies for professional Departments. In addition, applicants must be Computer literate and have a good
understanding of Information and Communication Technology.

iii. Qualifications for the position of Senior Lecturer                                                   FUASS 5
Applicants for the position of Senior must possess a Ph.D degree in a relevant discipline with at least three (3) years post post-qualification experience in teaching and research in a
University system. He/she must show evidence of scholarships and a track record of outstanding research with at least fourteen (14) publications both in local and international peer-reviewed publications. Predatory and doubtful outlets, journals, and publishers are not allowed.
Applicants must have been Lecturer I for a minimum of two (2) years before 30th September 2024. He/she must be a member of the regulating professional bodies for professional Departments. In addition, applicants must be Computer literate and have a good understanding of Information and Communication Technology.

iv. Qualifications for the position of Lecturer I                                                               FUASS 4
Applicants for the position of Lecturer I must have at least two (2) years post-qualification experience in teaching and research in a University system. He/she must show evidence of scholarships and a track record of outstanding research with at least six (6) publications both in local and international peer-reviewed publications. Predatory and doubtful outlets, journals, and publishers are not allowed.

Applicants must have been Lecturer II for a minimum of two (2) years before 30th September 2024 or Applicants for a position of Lecturer I in any of the professional programmes, i.e.,
Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science and Law Degree must possess a minimum of Ph.D degree in relevant field. He/she must be a member of the regulating professional bodies for professional Departments. In addition, applicants must be Computer literate and have a good understanding of Information and Communication Technology.

v. Qualifications for the position of Lecturer II                                                              FUASS 3
Applicants for the position of Lecturer II must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and must show evidence of scholarships and a track record of outstanding research with at least three (3) publications both in local and international peer-reviewed publications. Predatory and doubtful outlets, journals, and publishers are not allowed. Evidence of registration for Ph.D. will be an added advantage.
He/she must be a member of the regulating professional bodies for professional Departments. In addition, applicants must be Computer literate and have a good understanding of Information and Communication Technology.

Basic Requirements for Non-Teaching Positions

i. Qualifications for the position of Technologist II                                                      FUNTISS 7
Applicants for the position of Technologist II must possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate, not below a Lower Credit grade in Science Laboratory Technology (Chemistry
Option) from a recognized Institution with excellent communication and interpersonal relations/skills. Applicant must be a member of the Institute of Science Laboratory Technology
(ISLT).
The applicant must be Computer literate and have a good understanding of Information and Communication Technology as applicable to the Laboratory.

ii. Qualifications for the position of Clinical Instructor                                             FUNTISS 8
The applicant for the position of Clinical Instructor must possess a Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree (BN.Sc.), must be a registered Nurse or Midwifery and a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Evidence of a valid Annual Practicing License with the regulating professional body will be an added advantage.
The applicant must be Computer literate and have a good understanding of Information and Communication Technology as applicable to the Nursing Science Programme.

iii. Qualifications for the position of Medical Laboratory Scientist                       FUNTISS 9
The applicant must possess a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science Degree (BMLS) and must be a member of the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria (MLSCN). Evidence of a valid Annual Practicing License with the regulating professional body will be an added advantage.

The applicant must be Computer literate and have a good understanding of Information and Communication Technology as applicable to the Medical Laboratory Science Programme.

v. Qualifications for the position of Curator FUNTISS 7
Applicants for the position of Curator must possess a Bachelor degree, not below a Second Class Lower Division in Public Health from a recognized Institution with an excellent communication and interpersonal relations/skills. The suitable candidate will among others maintain an institution’s collection of records and artifacts, oversee the arrangement of exhibits and the cataloging of items.
The applicant must be Computer literate and have a good understanding of Information and Communication Technology as applicable to the Public Health Laboratory/Museum.

SALARY AND OTHER CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
