Fountain University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Air Force which is aimed at fostering an innovative and mutually beneficial partnership in education and training.
The official signing ceremony was held on Tuesday, 20th June 2023, at the Blue Room in the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters (NAF HQ), located in Abuja.
The Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim, the Registrar, Mr. Adenekan Sherrif, and Chairman, NASFAT BOT (Representative of the Proprietors), Alhaji(Dr) Wale OLASUPO, represented the school. The MoU highlights the collaboration between both parties to improve knowledge sharing, technical skills and the overall competence of the Nigerian Air Force personnel.
With this new development, Fountain University will work alongside the Nigerian Air Force on various academic and research-based initiatives. This partnership will also create opportunities for students and staff of Fountain University to engage in joint research activities, potentially leading to critical advancements in aviation technology.
The MoU is expected to bring positive changes in educational standards, with the university offering specialized programs designed to meet the unique needs of the Nigerian Air force. In return, the Air Force will provide valuable insights and resources to enhance the quality of education within the institution.
Speaking about the partnership, the acting Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar, expressed excitement and pledged to work relentlessly towards the shared objectives. “Together, we will explore new avenues and create a symbiosis that will not only benefit both establishments, but ultimately contribute to the growth and development of our nation”, he mentioned.
This alliance signifies an important step in strengthening Nigeria’s education and defense sectors, with the goal of fostering national development and long-term cooperation.
