Students from the Department of Mass Communication, Fountain University have demonstrated their exceptional skills and expertise in public relations by securing second place in a pitching competition.
The event, held on 14th May, 2023 was the maiden edition of public relations pitch organized by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Osun State Chapter, in collaboration with Opolo Innovation Hub.
The competition witnessed the participation of students from various schools who were tasked with presenting their ideas based on assigned briefs to a panel of judges who are experts in the field. Fountain University students demonstrated their creativity, strategic thinking, and persuasive abilities, earning them the well-deserved second-place position.
During the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Verdant Zeal, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi , encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence, emphasizing their pivotal role as the future of the public relations industry.
The judges of the competition were not only impressed by the students’ presentations but also generously gifted them with monetary rewards, further acknowledging their commendable efforts. As recognition of their outstanding performance, the students were awarded a generous cash gift of ₦130,000 and received an ambassadorial award from one of the esteemed judges, Mrs Chizaram Esther.
The Chairman of the NIPR, Osun State Chapter, Mr Ademola Adesoji expressed his utmost admiration for the students’ outstanding performance, emphasizing that they have consistently displayed remarkable talent and expertise in all competitions they have participated in.
