Fountain University, Osogbo, on Monday presented scholarship awards to over 155 deserving students for the 2024/2025 academic session. The total scholarship grant of ₦46,065,000 was generously sponsored by five prominent individuals who share the University’s passion for empowering young minds. This is in addition to the Scholarship award granted by the University to the University Scholars – students with the highest cGPA across all departments and levels.
The sponsors, who were recognized for their philanthropy, include Former Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Vice Admiral (Dr.) Jubrila Ayinla; Alhaja Wosilat Aregbesola; Dr. Belo-Olusoga; Alhaji Ganiyu Adekunle; and the current Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Dr. AWA Ibraheem.
At the presentation ceremony, which took place at the Eti-Osa Lecture Hall of the University, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim, commended the sponsors for their selfless contributions. She also charged the beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity, emphasizing that the scholarship is not just a financial award, but also a vote of confidence in their abilities.
“I specially request that you all make special prayers for our esteemed sponsors, whose kindness and generosity have made this scholarship possible. May God bless and reward them abundantly for their investment in your future”, she added.
On their part, the students received the event with jubilation, erupting in cheers and applause as they collected their scholarship award letters.
