Welcome to the Political Science Department at Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. Here, we are dedicated to fostering a vibrant academic community characterized by intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and scholarly excellence.

As one of the pioneering departments in the university, our Political Science program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of political systems, institutions, and processes at local, national, and international levels. Through a diverse range of courses and experiential learning opportunities, students explore key concepts in political theory, comparative politics, international relations, public policy, and governance.

Our faculty members are renowned scholars and experts in their respective fields, committed to delivering high-quality education and engaging students in cutting-edge research and discourse. Direct Entry

B.Sc. Political Science

Candidates for admission into the four-year degree programme must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or General Certificate of Education, NECO or their equivalents with at least five Credit passes, obtained in not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Government and at least two other social science subjects. An acceptable UTME score is also required.

UTME Subjects: English Language, Government and two other subjects chosen from Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, Geography and Literature in English

Candidates for direct entry into the degree programme should possess five credit passes in the General Certificate of Education, NECO, Senior Secondary School Certificate or their equivalents, with at least five Credit passes, obtained in not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Government and at least two other arts or social science subjects. In addition, candidates must possess credit passes in Government and one or two other social science subjects at advanced level in the General Certificate of Education, or an acceptable grade at the Fountain University Degree Foundation Programme, or its equivalent.
