In a move to boost the morale of members of staff during the holy month of Ramadan, the Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim has graciously given out special Ramadan packages to all members of staff and Students.
The Ramadan packages consisted of a crate of eggs, generously sponsored by the Deputy President of the Southwest Muslim Ummah of Nigeria (MUSWEN), Alh. Rafiu Ebiti. The Vice Chancellor said the gesture was to remind the staff to remain united and focused on the progress of the University and also to serve as an expression of her appreciation for their hard work and commitment.
Speaking during the presentation, Prof Karim expressed her gratitude towards Alh. Rafiu Ebiti and urged others to emulate the gesture. In her words, she said: “I strongly appreciate Alh. Rafiu for this kindhearted gesture. We are all trying to contribute in our own little way. I urge other individuals and organizations to also give to the less privileged during this holy month as instructed by Allah in the glorious Qur’an.”
The gesture was warmly received by the staff who expressed their delight at the Vice Chancellors’ kind gesture. One member of staff, Dr Rasheed Adebiyi, commended the Vice Chancellor and said: “This is unprecedented in FUO! May Allah continue to be with our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim. This, in the month of Ramadan, will surely yield rewards. May Allah make the reward bountiful for you. Jazakhumllahu Khaeyran.’’
The Vice Chancellor’s gesture is a reminder to everyone that no matter how little, a kind gesture can go a long way in making someone’s day brighter.
