Fountain University Welcomes 545 Freshmen in Landmark Matriculation Ceremony

Fountain University, Osogbo, has matriculated 545 students into 5 different Colleges for the 2023/2024 session.

This momentous occasion, held on Thursday, February 15th, marked the first matriculation ceremony presided over by the management team headed by Professor Olayinka Ramota Karim.

In her address to the new students, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Olayinka Karim urged them to maintain exemplary character and abide by the university’s rules and regulations.

Emphasising the significance of discipline, responsibility, and integrity, Professor Karim urged students to confront challenges with resilience and perceive them as opportunities for personal growth.

According to her, “In the face of a world marked by uncertainty and economic crisis, Fountain University stands as a beacon—a sanctuary where knowledge and faith converge. Today, as we usher you into the institution, we will not only invite you to partake in our academic programmes but also implore you to embrace the distinct values that define our university”.

“Dear matriculants, parents, and guardians, I want to emphasize that Fountain University upholds uncompromising standards. Each student is expected to maintain a high level of academic performance, as outlined by the National Universities Commission (NUC) Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS). We have integrated this curriculum to ensure that our academic programs not only meet but exceed the minimum standards set by the commission”.

“The CCMAS incorporates 30% of the university’s core values and vision, providing a holistic education that encompasses Islamic faith teachings, Quranic reading, and general studies. This well-rounded approach aims to equip you with not only academic knowledge but also spiritual and moral enrichment.”

Professor Karim, however, called on students to embrace their mission beyond academic achievements, striving for personal growth, character development, and practical skills acquisition.
