The Vice-Chancellor of Fountain University, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim extends her warmest greetings to all Muslim brothers and sisters, as well as all Nigerians, on the occasion of Maulud Nabiy, the celebration of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The VC noted that Maulud Nabiy is a momentous occasion in the Islamic calendar and a time for reflection,prayer, and unity. A reminder of the extraordinary life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the profound impact he has had on humanity.
Speaking further, Prof. Karim in her words noted “In commemorating this blessed event, we at Fountain University emphasize the following:
1. Spirit of Compassion: The life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) exemplified compassion, kindness, and mercy. Let us strive to embody these qualities in our interactions with one another and in our communities.
2. Education and Knowledge: The Prophet emphasized the importance of knowledge and learning. At Fountain University, we continue to uphold this principle by promoting academic excellence and the pursuit of knowledge.
3. Community Service: Maulud Nabiy is a time to engage in acts of charity and community service. Let us reach out to those in need, promote social justice, and work toward the betterment of society.
4. Interfaith Harmony: We encourage dialogue and understanding among people of different faiths. Let us foster an environment of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
5. Unity and Brotherhood: This occasion reminds us of the unity among Muslims. Let us come together as a community, transcend differences, and working together for the common good.”
The Vice chancellor concluded that Fountain University remains committed to nurturing a generation of students who are not only academically proficient but also morally upright and compassionate leaders. She believes that the values taught by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are central to achieving this goal.
She finally prayed that this occasion bring blessings, peace, and unity to Fountain University, Nigeria, and the world.
