Fountain University Celebrates Workers’ Day, Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting Workers.

Osogbo, Nigeria – As Fountain University joins the rest of Nigeria in celebrating this year’s Workers’ Day, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olayinka Ramota Karim, has extolled the virtues of the University’s staff for their unflinching dedication, diligence, and commitment to the growth and development of the institution.

In her statement, Professor Karim applauded the members of the staff of Fountain University for their tireless efforts in advancing the University’s vision and mission toward producing competent graduates.

“Happy Labour Day to all of you! Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and direct contributions to the growth and goals of Fountain University, most especially my vision of building an institution of academic excellence in teaching, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community service where all staff and students will have a sense of belonging, work, and study in peace, harmony, a congenial environment, and mutual respect”, she said.

While referencing the word of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), Professor Karim encouraged the workers to continue to uphold the ethical values and high standards of the institution, and to remain committed to the goal of providing quality education to the students as enjoined by Islam.

“In Islam, labor is considered a virtuous deed and obligatory upon all able-bodied persons in society.
The Holy Prophet always insisted upon working hard. He is reported to have said: “One who works is the friend of Allah, and one who does not work is considered by Allah, to be His enemy”. Allah does not love those who sleep too much, and do not work”, she said.

The Vice-Chancellor finally urged the staff to continue to collaborate with the management to consolidate the gains achieved and ensure that Fountain University remains a hub of academic excellence.
